Gravesite of 1.4.6.4 Archibald Cales ,b. March 30,1821/d. Dec 7,1897 on Zion Mountain (formerly Cales Mountain) near Hinton, WVa.
  Archibald is a son of James Cales who is a brother to Mary Polly Cales-Adkins who also has a son James who married Sarah and started the Cales Family of Stump Lick Hollow.
The Coxes (and Vances) are Archibald's descendents via daughter 1.4.6.4.2 Louvina (Cales) Vance b.1845.  
John D Vance and Louvina (Cales) Vance are the grandparents of Vincent Caloway Cox and Nora Alice (Vance) Cox who were first cousins and are the grandparents of the six children of Russell H and Arbanna (Cales) Cox.
Archibald & Nancy (Wyant)Cales are (Third)Great-Grand parents to Arbanna's kids.

Deloris Richmond
'Aunt Jim'

Deloris Richmond, 84, of Brooks went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday May 24, 2011 at the Summers Co. Appalachian Regional Hospital, following a long illness. 
Born March 30, 1927 at Sandstone, she was a daughter of the late Julian S. and Delphia Mae Bragg Cales. She was a member of the Beech Run Baptist Church, a homemaker, lifelong resident of Summers Co. and enjoyed quilting, gardening and spending time with her family. 
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Samuel Creed Richmond; two daughters, Doris Sharon Richmond and Wanda Karen Richmond; one son, Virgil Ray Richmond; six sisters and one brother. 
Those left to cherish her lasting memory include her devoted son, Samuel J. Richmond and wife Rebecca of Hinton; two grandsons, Jason Creed Richmond of Hinton and Justin Adam Richmond and wife Kristin of Hilldale and was expecting her first great grandson. Three brothers; James E. Cales and Charles Hubert Cales both of Sandstone and Otis Lee Cales and wife Kathy of Smoot and one sister, Martha Ewing of Florida also survive. 
Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Sonny Angell officiating. Burial will follow in the Cales Cemetery at Sandstone. Friends may call at the funeral parlor from 6 until 8 PM Wednesday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. 

Emerald Davis Cales

Emerald Davis Cales (Doodle), 50, New Smyrna Beach FL died Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Dave was born in Hinton, West Virginia and came to this area as a child. He worked for many years as an auto body mechanic with Liberty Collision Center. Dave enjoyed having cookouts and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also coached his sons Little League teams and enjoyed fishing NASCAR and was an avid Florida Gator and WV Mountaineers fan. His family remembers him as a joyful and generous man with his life centered around them and his work.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years Loralynn, his mother Patty Bennett, children David Ryan Cales, Joseph Roggow, Shelly Kirkland, siblings Dan Cales, Tommy Cales, Gene Cales, Rhonda Zeigler Cheryl Reyes and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Paul Ross in 2010.

Life Celebration will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Chapel of Faith Herbert Street Port Orange.
 
             James Everette Cales

   James Everette Cales, 87, of Sandstone, WV, 
 passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Hinton,WV.
 Born March 24, 1925, Everette was the fourth of 
 twelve children born to Julian S. and Delphia M (Bragg)     Cales. He served in the US Army
in Europe during WWII. He worked in
Charleston and Hinton as a TV repairman
and was a familiar face to many who knew 
they could call on him at any time to repair
most any kind of household appliance. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Irma
(Foster-Ward), two brothers, and six sisters.
He is survived by a sister, Martha S (Cales)
Ewing of Atlanta, and two brothers, Charles H Cales of Sandstone, and Otis L (Kathy) Cales of Smoot. He is also survived by Danny (Bunnie)Cales of New Smyrna Beach, FL  who is his nephew and was Everette's 'ward' after his father Tom's death in 1961. Everette is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Every Wednesday and Sunday Everette journeyed from Sandstone to Hilldale to visit at the nursing home. No services are planned as he had wished for many years to donate his remains to medical science.

Robert G. Cales, age 85, passed away on February 10, 2016 in Dayton, Ohio. Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Evelyn Y. Cales; children Jan (Walt) Gray, Douglas Cales, Julie (Scott) Sowder; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one brother. Bob was preceded in death by two sons Frank and David Cales. A visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 3pm-4pm with a funeral service to follow at 4pm.
